What's the going rate for movers?

So next week I need to move out of my house. I'm a little pressed for time as I need to be out by Thursday at the latest, which is one week from now.

Just wondering that the going rate for movers is. Does anyone know of any good moving companies out there and what their rates are?

I used Tippet Richardson about a month or two ago. It depends on how many guys and the size of truck you need. I think that we paid about $180/hr.

Honestly, I was thrilled to pay someone else to do this for me. It was about 30 degrees and we not only enjoyed a morning coffee, but an early afternoon ice cream while the heavy lifting was completed! I highly, highly recommend hiring movers, even if the price is a bit steep.

I used Highland movers about a year and a half ago. I think it was about $750 to have 3 guys for a full day moving pretty much all my belongings. In between joints and smoke breaks, the 3 of them actually did a pretty good job.

Last time I used movers I had a bunch of dvds stolen. I guess it was my fault for labeling the box "dvds".
