Need a lateral D for F swap
Okay it seems like the CPHL is over flowing with defenceman and forwards are in short supply some how.
Anyways I have the following defenceman in this order whom I'll swap for a similarly rated/aged/salaried forward.
Brendan Witt 74 OV, 32, 4.5 million per year 3 years left.
Top 4 Stay at home defenceman. Not a young guy, but his rating won't slide any time soon.
Brian Pothier 74 OV 30, 2.25 million per year 2 years left
Plays top minutes for the Capitals and is a good puck mover. Contract represents great value for what you get. Rating has potential to move up in coming years.
Cory Sarich 74 OV 28, 2.4 million per year 1 year left
The Flames thought enough of him to sign him for 18 million over 5 years. Big durable guy who should do well with a team who wants to get back to being a tough defensive squad.
Dennis Wideman 73 OV 24 1.1 million per year 1 year left.
The Bruins swapped him straight up for Brad Boyes, this kid is gold! Defensive game improved drastically last year and he should get a chance to be a top 4 guy in bean town with some minutes on the PP.
Bruno Gervais 70 OV 22 850k per year AHL 30% 2 years left
Young defenceman should get a full time role with the Islanders this coming year. Plus Bruno...you never go wrong with Bruno
Nolan Baumgartner 69 OV 31 750k per year 3 years left.
Can produce in the right situation. Dallas is a strong system team and Baumgartner will get a chance to play the role vacated by Darryl Sydor. Could be a bargain in a couple of years.
Micki Dupont 66 OV 27 1 million per year 20% AHL 2 years left
The type of over achiever that seems to endear themself to Andy Murray. The Blues don't have many defenceman under contract so a good puck mover like Dupont could land an NHL job this year.
Mathieu Roy 64 OV 23 750k per year 15% AHL 2 years left
He's a big French guy who's shown progress as he's made the jump to pro hockey. At his age he moves freely up and down between the minors. Given that the Oilers have one big guy who's a happy go lucky mennonight who's friendlier than Teddy Ruxpen to play policeman you can guarantee that d core will be decimated by injury again and Roy probably plays 50 games out of neccessity. Which might lead for a decent orgnaization to steal him from Lowe and turn him into a real player. He has tools.
