Halo 2 Day tommorow

I've had this preordered for quite some time. I will admit I wasn't a huge Halo 1 fan and feel it is one of the most overated games of all time, but reading reviews of Halo 2 it looks like they've solidified the game in every aspect.

I'm curious as to why you would preorder a game that is a sequel to a game that you think is one of the most overated games of all time. This one is comming out to way more hype. Don't get me wrong, I preordered it over a month ago, but I absolutely loved Halo, and think it's a little odd that you would preorder the sequel to a game you didn't like.

Time to bring out the no jordon symbol again.. I don't play too many video games, but Halo can keep my attention for hours on end. I'm quite looking forward to Thursday when I get to play a massive multiplayer session.

Grow up fanboy. Halo was a very flashy game, I loved the look and feel of the game. But to me there was little behind the polish, half of the game was backtracking, the storyline was very dull in my opinion. Halo 2 will have more depth to the game itself which I'm really looking forward to.

i've heard people call Halo the best game of all time, which it isn't hell it's not even the best shooter of all time!

Halo 2 has an awesome chance to take the reigns away from goldeneye in it's time.

Meh, played the original once at my friends house, wasn't impressed, got bored quite quickly. The game is VERY overrated IMO. I'm still waiting for GT4 to come out.

See, that is what I think is odd. You obviously didn't like the first one that much, but you are making a decision on the next one without the slightest bit of first hand experience (I can only assume you didn't write/test/steal the game). Why are you so sure this one can be one of the best shooters of all time when all you have to go on is the fact that this one is the continuation of the story/game from the first one?

As I said above, I've watched the Video review and read the text review over at IGN.com, they've added alot of depth to the game storywise that I look forwrd to bigtime!

Halo 1 to me was nothing more than good graphics, and an above average shooting engine with VERY LITTLE DEPTH.

Halo 2 looks to have that depth I'm looking for, but you're right I may not know until I play it myself.

I didn't think much of Halo 1 in singleplayer mode but the multiplayer version was damn fun. Especially when hooked up to an LCD projector and playing on a 14 foot diagonal screen with three of your buddies and a case of beer...

All that counts for me is the new version of Counterstrike...

I've been playing Halo 1 a good bit over the last few weeks with some friends. I haven't played the single player, but the multiplayer is fun. I don't think much can beat Goldeneye in it's day. The type of gameplay was way too revolutionary to be beaten. I actually like playing Goldeneye more (still have a 64 hooked up for that sole purpose) because of the sentimental value. I always play Mase and Wallflowers CDs when I'm playing.

Halo was an FPS first and foremost. How much of a story can an FPS have? The storyline of an FPS is something along the following: Bad thing/things have taken over, and its up to to you to stop it, al' la Rambo style.
Halo was a great leap forward in phsyics and AI for FPS's. The only game that will be comprible is Half-Life 2. I want to play Halo 2, but alas, I am busy with school and probably will not get a chance to play it for some time.
