Predators Staying Put/Nashville Trade Report
Was it the news of the trade that made gave the local ownership contingent a push to make a $10 million deposit? No one knows for sure at this point in time, but the Predators are staying in Music City!
The trade that might have spurred this? The Nashville Predators have sent Doug Janik to the Toronto Maple Leafs in exchange for forward Bates Battaglia. It could be a pure a coincidence that this trade took place just as the new ownership group made a deposit...but who knows for sure. "We have run our club in a manner to put the best team on the ice this season, whether that was in Nashville or elsewhere" said GM Lough.
In other news the Predators inked Jim Dowd to a 2 year $500k contract deal. "Jim gives us a veteran presence up front and brings some character to the club. That kind of impact is great for some of our younger players" said Lough.
