This means tornadoes are happening in the area. Be really safe people, these are the real things.

Yeah, they've activated the EBS twice already. The second one basically said "If you are in Torrington or Trochu, get inside and duck for cover."

Looking at the Environment Canada radar, it looks like a nasty cell is headed right at Airdrie.

Might clip the east edge of Calgary too, if it turns any farther south.

Hey KG... I feel real bad for not leaving when I said I was going to. I would have made it with time to spare... kicking myself now.

Just spoke with my Aunt in north Airdrie. Definite rotation within the cloud. Said she sees cloud moving up and down with rotation, so it sounds like a funnel cloud has started. Appears the hook is heading right for her.

oh, and KG.... head west, we want pics. Intercept on hwy 1/hwy 24 would be my best bet.

This might sound a bit stupid but isn't chasing after storms that kill people somewhat, I don't know, stupid in itself? I don't mean to offend but what really is the point to say that you saw a storm or is it just some sort of adrenaline thing?

That being said if anyone is heading out tonight stay safe or write me into your will please.

For the folks in Calgary, it's about to get windy in the next 10 minutes or so probably. VERY large hail dropping in Airdrie at the moment, will try to get a more definite size.

edit: Golf ball size hail

My mom says nothing happening on the south side of Airdrie. Christ that city is getting large when the weather north and south is different.

Two seperate cells, both with hooks on the south end.

Over and done with in the North end of Airdrie with golf ball hail being the most dangerous thing. Thank God.

NW corner of the university, wind is picking up. Trees blowing around pretty good out there.

The south end is the closest to the back. The hook is quite obvious on the one north of airdrie. In the direction of travel, it's more so in the front for some reason.

A cooling breeze is pretty welcome. Hope no tornadoes reault out of this for anyone.

Tornado Watch is now extended to City of Calgary.

Starting to see some dark clouds now up in the NW.
