Bon Jovi at Fort Calgary?
Girl in my office just told me there's a rumor that Bon Jovi may be the "surprise act" that's supposed to perform at the Fort Calgary Stampede Party this afternoon.
I don't know if there's any validity to the rumor.

Ah yes, the annual "mystery guest at Stampede Roundup party rumour". The rumour stems from the fact that they're playing at the Saddledome this evening. Last year, everyone thought Kenny Chesney was going to be the mystery guest because he was playing at the 'Dome that evening, but it turned out to be Roger Hodgson.
My guess is that it'll be a Canadian artist, as the two main acts tonight, Collective Soul and INXS, are decent b-level international bands.
Currently, I'm sitting in my office wondering how early I can sneak out to this show. Nice that there's shuttle buses picking up right at my building.

Well, if you want to see the mystery artist, you want to get there at 4pm. At around 6pm you're going to find the drink lineups unbearable, so get drink tickets as soon as you get there and double-fist immediately.
The area right in front of the stage will be packed tight, but if you walk down either extreme side, you can cut in slowly and get a good view from fairly close.
Watch your ankles as the surface is horribly uneven.
In today's weather, the port-a-potties should be like a smelly sauna.

I doubt that Bon Jovi is going to play a concert this afternoon and then another one this evening, thats even too much for them.

Did anyone go to the actual Bon Jovi concert last night? What a great show! That's the first concert I've been to where a band played for just over 2 hours. I had a great time, any one else?

I was there...would of like to hear more of his hits. But none-the-less. They know how to get the most out of the crowd

Outstanding show! I was on my feet the entire night and I've lost my voice for today. Nevertheless, it was worth it. My only disappointment was that they didn't sing "Keep the Faith" which is my favorite Jovi song.

They recently got back together. Fuel is playing their song "Bomb" in fairly heavy rotation.
I guess Bob Rock wanted to get out of the booth and do a bit of performing again.

I got to Fort Calgary just as the Payola$ were leaving the stage, but both Collective Soul and INXS were awesome.

I was at the Bon Jovi show last night. It was an average show I guess. They started off with hits and ended the last encore with hits and the rest were more obscure tunes or their new twangy country stuff. I had great seats that were free so I can't complain too much but I disagree with the people saying the crowd was into it. A lot of folks seemed bored when they realized the song selection was light on hits to say the least.
I don't know, you come to our city every 16 years and think we want to hear your new country sound guys? I think they need to come back at a different time of year.
