Default Truck canopies

I'm looking at truck canopies. It seems they are all very similar. The leer, the raider, A.R.E and the cap-it, but the price difference is anywhere from $2400 - $3200 for the version I want. Does anybody have any experience with any of these?

Got nothing useful to add, except that my old 2005 Tundra had a canopy. I loved that thing.

It was a Leer. Worked great, but it came with the truck (used) so I can't comment on price.

Have you looked for a used one? probably a lot cheaper.

It all depends on what you want to do with your truck cover. I have a diamondback cover on my f150 mid-box and LOVE it! I can side load 2 quads on it as it supports up to 1600lbs.

I'd like one to haul my gear around and my dog. And keep everything secure. I have a tacoma so I'm looking at the mid-rise one. The leer is the cheapest, and the A.R.E is the most expensive. They all seem very similar, so I was just going to get the leer unless someone had bad experiences with them.

Another +1 for Leer. My dad has had his for 6 years, still looks brand new.

my father in law used to have one on an old ford ranger, his comment was that it cut down the rear visibility a lot.

he also spends time yelling at clouds though

Good to know. I'm actually shopping for one right now. Best quote I got was about 3k installed, which was about twice what I was hoping to spend.

Any particular Leer dealer you looked at?

After a couple months of searching, I managed to get a used one today, if that's a route you're interested in.

Got quotes between $2700 and 3200 all in, got one used for $850 and an afternoon of my time.

Yeah I've been loosely keeping an eye on Kijiji but maybe I'll double my efforts. I have a white f-150 so not exactly rare.

There were a few F-150 versions there when I looked.

I actually cared about colour until my buddy pointed out that I could vinyl wrap one for dirt cheap. I'm currently rocking the Flame's red truck and charcoal grey canopy and don't even care for that price.
