Default What songs entice you to dance?

I am curious as to what the CP crowd is subject to wanting to jump onto the dance floor. What is your crack cocaine of dance music?

I ask this as I am gearing up to once again DJ events over the next while. I have tons of '80s and '90s songs, but definitely lack newer show stoppers. Regardless of that, I want to hear your feedback.

Sooo... any recommendations (from any era or genre) would be appreciated. Adding your gender and age in your post would be helpful. List as many songs as you like!!! And thank you CP. Perhaps this becomes the basis of a CP get together.

I really like Celtic/Irish or Celtic flavoured music, that really gets me going. Stuff like Great Big Sea, The Pogues, Flogging Molly, Dropkick Murphys etc. When I hear that stuff in a pub, I lose all control. I must dance.

you can't go wrong with top 40.

I guess my cocaine of dance has to be latin music. I hate that most dj's play the gypsy kings...but if you put on some reggaeton you can get anyone dancing. here's some videos so you that you can get acquainted: http://www.youtube.com/results?search_query=reggaeton

Strangely enough, after ripping all 700+ CD's I have in my collection, I don't recall that one. Good choice!

Thanks for the input sadora. Certainly a genre I have not kept up with in recent years. Any particular songs you prefer from it?

Rompe by Daddy Yankee is a pretty good song. Another good group is Residente Calle 13.

Here's a link you can check out. At the bottom of the page you'll find a list of artists and producers, that may help you out.

Daft Punk - Around the World , really gets me going.

Funny story, I was drying a pot while listening to "The National Anthem" by Radiohead, and was shakin' it so hard the handle fell off.

Dance metal, ie Rammstein makes me bop and move.

Engel and of course Du Hast are good for getting a younger (18-35) crowd moving
