Default Recommendations for anniversary dinner?

Tomorrow is my wife and I's 3rd wedding anniversary. Can you guys recommend a nice fine dining restaurant? I was thinking Caesar's or Hy's, but not sure which place is better. Any other favs? It doesn't have to be a steak house.

Hy's is hole in the ground right now. Closed and re-opening in a different location in about a year or so. I would check out Tribute on 8th Ave or Vintage Chophouse on 12th.

Sultan's Tent or River Cafe -- both are very good & unique places for a meal...

If you like Seafood, my favorite restaurant in the city is Catch.

Teatro's pretty nice too.

Hey bud, here are some fine places to take your lady

The not too expensive option, but still very nice
- Belvedere
- skaska (if you want to try Russian)
- The Ranche

The expensive, and very nice option (especially if you want to sample some nice wine)
- Il Sogno

I take my dates to these places often, so I know they have pretty good food, wine, and atmosphere.

They aren't there anymore. Not sure if they re-located or what... it's being renovated into a joint called "Boulevard".

I'd recommend the Ranche in Fish Creek Park (as TCMB just did), the Rouge in Inglewood for a similar experience, the Cafe at the top of Reader Rock Garden for a nice view of the city/stampede scape and a beautiful post-meal walk.

I'd do Rouge in Inglewood. Then you can go for a romantic walk by the river after and such.

The Ranche in Fish creek would be better for both. Less homeless shanties and drug addicts around there.

Belvedere was expensive, but not Il Sogno expensive. I didn't know the Chef had moved at Il Sogno. It's been awhile since I went there.

Um, I live near Rouge and I've not seen a homeless shanty... ever. Or drug addicts either. But hey, you could get mugged at the C-Train in Fish Creek! That's an experience you'll never forget!

Seriously... it had been a few months... maybe more since I visited but that sucks... great people, great seafood... damb that blows.

I'll vouch for skaska - If you would like to try Russian this a very good meal and personally I like that all the staff looks very russian maffia...

Hey it would probably help if you could narrow down her favorite food... e.g. maybe she likes Sushi and none of these apply...

Beat me to it. Many people talk about Inglewood and how 'hip, trendy, and expensive' it is but yet I think it's really bad for the money. You can spend millions on property there and have homeless crack addicts poking around in your property. One of the rare times I have felt unsafe in this city was rollerblading near Fort Calgary in broad daylight!

Well, Inglewood is kinda scary. One night, I was with a friend just having a leisure drive around the block. I pulled over by a church and jokingly told her that the church is haunted. Out of nowhere, this crazy lady walked up to her front door and attempted to open it. Good thing she had fast reflexes and manage to lock the front door fast, but as she did that, the crazy lady went for the backdoor. She reached back fast and locked the back door as well. She started yelling for me to drive, so I sped off. I wasn't scared or anything, but I was in complete confusion at that point.

We later determined that she might be a hooker. Though I was trying to convince her it was a ghost lol.
