Talk to my friend Kevin at Irene Besse Keyboards....they often have still servicable but slightly older keyboards available. Tell him you were referred from CP.
As far as retro-fitting midi to a rEALLY old board...it usually isn't feasible. The problem, amongst many others, is that you can't get velocity (hence volume) data for the notes being played. Cheap 2nd hand but midi equipped is a way better idea.
