I saw him in Banff once. He was probably the most famous person I had ever seen in person up to that point in my life.

Did he live in Calgary for a while, or did he just shoot his show here (at 2&7)? I know a guy who was one of his helpers on the 80s version of his show, and he apparently still gets recognized by people from it, even though he's in his mid-30s now.

I'll never forget the episode where he demonstrated the strength of a hollow bar vs a solid bar. I was so sure that the solid bar would be able to support more weight. You opened my eyes Mr. Wizard.
