Default Help my Anniversary is next week

So as the title says our annaversary is next Saturday and I am looking for something that we can go out and do. Since we have 2 little girls we do not get out much and when we do it is usually just the old dinner and a movie. I want to do something diffrent so that she will remember it.
We are both about 30 so going to a bar or something like that is not that great. I am thinking of either a really nice place to go and have dinner and\or something to do afterwards.

THanks in advance

i rented a hotel room downtown and then we spent the afternoon walking stephens avenue, trying out all the little boutique bars and eateries. instead of one big meal, we would have a drink and appy at a few different places.

then went back to the room for some rest and then back out again later in the evening for refreshments. wife did some shopping as well.

happy anniversary.

Something I was going to do for mine last year was to go White Water Rafting out West of Calgary. Something that neither my wife nor I have ever tried. Unfortunately some unfortunate events came about and it didn't happen. Hopefully we can make something like that work for us this year. Maybe something like going horseback riding for a few hours somewhere outside of town would work too? Skydiving if you and your wife are really adventurous.

Well, for starters, you are ahead of the game, you remembered your anniversary is coming up!!! You always get brownie points for that))

If some special year, try a quick weekend getaway. But, it does not have to be a special year if you want some me and you time. What does she like? Vegas is ok, you can get there cheap with WestJet. How about Victoria? Again, Westjet has great 3 day getaways, with great accomodations to choose from. And visit Buchart Gardens on the side, or drive up to Tofino for the day.

Even a quick overnight trip to Banff and staying in one of the nicer suites at the Banff Springs hotel or Chateau Lake Louise are all nice, you can take her for a nice hike if she's into that, or shopping if she's into that. There's even a company that lets you rent a plane by the hour so that you can get the infamous mile high wings.

A vegas getaway is nice, but I've always throught that Vegas was a better place to pick up girls then to celebrate a romantic getaway.

There are lots of bed and breakfeasts in the canmore area that cater to anniversaries, maybe try one of those.

Great idea, and the Lake Louise area is so much nicer than Banff, which has become one big tourist trap now.

Not sure if it is open yet, probably not if this is for next weekend, but the hike up to the Lake Anges Tea House, from the Chateau, is superb, and the view up there, amazing, like you can reach up and touch the clouds.

Jasper is also very nice, much nicer than Banff, and only a day ride too. If she is into shopping, stay over at Jasper, come home through Edmonton and their mall. The condos, apartments at Lake Pyramid are very nice.

The Executive Lodge in Kananaskis is a great place. You can get a bedroom or a loft suite. I have stayed in both and I recommend the loft suite. Two floor suite, King size bed, a balcony with the mountains at your backyard, tv's on both floors (but who really cares about that, it is afterall your anniversary), not to mention that you have some beautiful walkways, and both Banff and Canmore within a few minutes. When I went to the Executive Lodge a couple of years ago, they had this promotion where a chef would come to your suite to cook dinner for you and yours, a bit expensive but it was an overall great experience.

Whatever you decide to do, I hope it all turns out how you want it to and congratulations.

Is your wife outdoorsy at all? Spending a weekend up in Canmore or somewhere like that might be nice... you could go hiking or something like that. Or if she's not into that, you could still go up there and stay at a hotel and just spend the day looking around, eating and drinking.

I do this because we framed and hung our marrage certificate and put it in the living room. So when she asks I just casually look up and go yea of course I remember.

Thanks for all your help everyone, seems like getting out of the city is the way to go. Might do that but it will only be a one nighter as we only have a babysitter for the one night.
