Default Sprinkler System Installer

Anyone know a good sprinkler system installer in Calgary?

Don't have any recommendations for a good one, but stay away from Calgary Sprinkler/Artemis Landscapes. Horrible problems with their installations.

I just watched a family install a sprinkler system on Take Home Handyman... didn't look that hard actually.

If my late father was still alive he'd have done it for you. In fact I seem to remember him doing most of the block he was living on.

It's insanely easy to do it yourself, especially if your sod isn't down. You basically measure your yard, go to home depot and pick up all the sprinklers you need for your zones to be covered. Dig trenches, lay in plastic piping, attach sprinkler heads, and run it to your outdoor tap.

That's condensed but for the most part it's how you can do it. Some company will likely charge you $3000 for 2 days work (max).

I have a buddy that does it on the side and can do it well and fairly cheap. He did four of our houses last summer and about ten others. He is a teacher and this is his summer "job". It is like anything else, it is easy when you know what to do. Let me know and I can put you in touch.

boooooo you, you forgot the valves, swing joints, fittings, clamps, timer and wire.

It's easy to do yourself and if you lived in Lethbridge I would be able to help you out real easy as we sell about 10 systems a week

www.eljay.com I work in the Lethbridge office.

we don't do installation work but if you give them a call they can give you plenty of names for contractors that will do it.

I also have a buddy that has been known to do a few PM if you want

We did ours ... and I agree it's not that bad at all.

At very least a guy could just bring in the plumber/electrician at the end to tie it in after laying it all out on your own.

Had ours in for 5 years haven't had many issues ... just the odd lawn mower mishap.

I wouldn't waste your time with an elctrician because it's only 24 volt after the transformer and the only other thing needed from a plumber would be if you were needing to run another water source outside. In fact, I would recommend staying away from plumbers when it comes to irrigation, they have a tendancy to overcomplicate things and do it impractical ways

P.S. Maybe Jayems is looking to earn some extra cash as I know from previous threads he used to install irrigation

We've just got too much stuff going on to do it myself. Basement, deck, landscaping, etc...

Ran over a few sprinkler heads myself

Then when the system comes on you realise what you did when you have a geyser in your backyard
