Default A new Star Wars Movie?

http://www.news.com.au/dailytelegrap...1026%2C00.html

Well, if it's based on the Knights of the Old Republic game, and George Lucas doesn't direct, that could be awesome news.

i've said for years now that the best way to ressurrect the series would be to make a new set of movies in the KOTOR universe. i really hope the game designers are involved in it somehow, because they are much better than Lucas at realizing his own galaxy. hell, they can just make the plot mimic the game exactly and i'll be happy

I just read something a few days ago that said for sure no more new movies. Who knows what to think. I know they have one animated TV series well into production though.

There is an animated series on the go.. and there is also a live action TV show that starts filming sometime soon in Australia I think.. that could be pretty nifty.

I think birth of the Empire is the way to go. You could even have cgi Vader and others. But have short stories like a few people jumping ships to join the rebellion. Another could be the formation of the imperial fighter wings and stuff like that. Stormtroopers that fall out as in the book Allegiance.
I'll take KOTOR too though. And I agree, about Lucas. But not even so much direction as long as he doesn't write the dialogue!

I think a KOTOR movie or series of movies could be cool since its the opposite of the Star Wars movies in that the Sith are pretty much in control and the Jedi are trying to wrest control of the galaxy from them.

If there is a new one I just hope Lucas is smart enough to let someone else take the helm and breathe a little new life into it. He can stay on as a producer.

I honestly feel mixed emotions about this. The fanboy inside of me is excited with the idea of another adventure somewhere far far away, while at the same time feeling apprehensive towards another one simply because it might not be as good as the others...at least everything after Attack of the Clones.

Personally, I'd rather have it based on the KOTOR series than the Jedi Knight series. Kyle Katayrn might be cool... but Mark Hamill isn't the same anymore... KOTOR is the way to go if there IS to be a new movie.

No more movies please. There's not way Lucas would take a step back, and there's no way he could make a good movie again, so I'd rather see nothing at all.
How about KOTOR 3 on the Xbox 360 instead

I highly doubt that any new movies are being made but if thats what the announcment is..it wouldnt bother me a bit because i'll always have the originals to fall back on no matter how many jarjars ruin the series.

Weren't the last three movies bad enough to put this franchise into its grave? I know they were for me. Please, spare me the torture of another Star Wars movie.

How did Jar Jar ruin the 5th or 6th films please? God there's some overstated media buzzword hyperbole being thrown in here
Besides, George has already shown he can and has taken a step back.

I don't know, I really like the prequel series with the exception of the Phantom Menace and thats more along the lines of Jake Lloyd not being able to carry the character and some stupid catch phrases.

I found a lot of positives in the first one, I thought that Liam Neilson, and Ewan Mcgregor did a terrific job in thier roles. Ian Mcdiarmid was solid as Palpatine. I thought Nat Portman wasn't great in her role throughout the series. The premise was good to me but it was a little cartoonish. The fight between Maul and Obi-wan was probably one of the best sword sequences that I've ever seen.

I thought the Attack of the Clones was excellent, the CGI work was excellent, and Palpatine really shined as a two faced evil villian, that you knew was evil but he was playing things so well.Christensen had some good scenes and some really bad scenes. The dialogue wasn't great but I liked the premise of the movie, and the battle scene was terrific. They also llimited Jar Jar to a very minor role, with a idicator that he caused the fall of the republic by bringing in the motion of emergency powers.

The Revenge of the Sith I thought was very good, especially with the seduction of Skywalker, the duel between Vader and Obi-wan was well done except for the high ground bit, the duel between Yoda and Sideous was great. A little weak in the premise and the frankenstein moment was cringe worth, but I enjoyed it. The starship battles at the start was absolutely stunning.

I think the biggest problem with the films was that they were compared to the original which we all have happy and overblown memories of. But the acting in the first star wars was also a little wooden and cringeworthy as well

Great post captain!
Menace was the most poor but you're right the sabre scenes and fights with maul perhaps are the best of their kind. Genosis battle was good too but the lava was a bit forced down our throats.
BTW
Jedi was directed by Richard Marquand and not Lucas and co-written by Lawrence Kasdan.

Honestly in the Revenge of the Sith the best scene is still the opera house scene where Palpatine tells the legend of Darth Plageous the Wise.

IM did a outstanding job as a story teller.
