How would the NTC work when you're waiving, and how does a team make a claim on a player with an NTC when they have an NTC already...

And yes... I'm slightly interested.

Answer to question 1 - doesn't matter. NTCs don't impact the ability to put a guy on waivers. Though I don't believe its happened before.

Answer to question 2 - I have no idea. That's a dilly of a pickle!

I think waiving a guy is a way around a No Trade contract. IMO Bryan McCabe has a no movement clause on his NHL contract meaning he can't be waived, or anything like that. A no trade just means you can't be traded, but I think the player can still be waived to the AHL.

So if someone claimed Bondra they'd still get a player with a NTC unless they wanted to pay to get the clause off. Essentially you couldn't waive him and you'd have to give him an extra million to trade him. But I think it's pretty moot as I suspect he'll retire or go back to Europe to play now that he got his 500th goal.

I guess the issue is though that Rob has Bingo Bongo with a NTC and under the old rules you can only have 1 NTC. Now of course those rules are no longer around becuase NTCs have been eliminated except those in place. But still...not sure.

Well than the easy rule is he can claim him....But he has to remove the NTC on one of the players so that he only has one player with a NTC.

Come on you're commish...you get to make the rules and you can use reasons like this is what came out of my arse today and make us accept that or can us.

OR...Rob could remove the NT on Bingo Bongo and the Hawks would be more than happy to take him home and raise him as one of their very own.

That's a good point... Rob, I'm guessing plenty of GMs will want to trade with you if you remove bingo bango's NT clause!

Sharks get Peter Bondra.

Nords claimed him too - but claimed Kris Beech.
Jets most recent claim was Allison.

SJ hasn't claimed anyone after either so they get Bondra.

The Wild thank you all.

This will be a great pick up for the Sharks if he decides to play again.

Yay! We'd much rather take our chances on Bondra playing next year and possibly end up with a great player right now than wait 6 more years for Krahn to possibly turn into an NHL goalie, so we're more than happy with this pick-up!

Thanks to the league for straightening out that whole Krahn mess LOL, that would have put me too far down the list to grab Bondra. Of course, I'm sure someone else will put someone better up on waivers that I want now and I won't have a shot. So goes the waiver wire!
