Default 24 season finale (SPOILERS)

ok....so Bill and Karen both have to resign and they can sail away into the sunset, Chloe and Morris are going to have a baby, Jack's dad is dead, and Jack says good bye to Audrey. Looks like we are going to have a completely new setting and a new cast for day 7.

Thoughts?

Certainly looks like they want to tie up a lot of loose ends this year, not a lot of cliff hanging. A new baby? Big deal. Audrey? Meh. Bill and Karen? Probably not gone.

For next year: Jack's dad dead? Who knows...The Chinese are probably still around. Jack probbaly a mental wreck and will be found washing cars in Wyoming. Josh Bauer is probably back in play somehow, as is his mothers crush on Jack. Wayne Palmer probably no longer president but still around.

But yes, I think the slate is somewhat clean for a new cast an a completely new story that less tied in then it has been tied in the previous 3 or 4 years. Nadia. Meh. Ricky Schroder now blind? Seee ya.

Meh overall year....obviously a big twist early on with the bomb going off.
Notable kills like Curtis, Jack's brother.

As for believabilty, still somewhat surprised how mobile and how back to normal everything was in CTU and the city considering a nuclear bomb went off in an LA suburb 4 hours (10am) in.

Have to start watching DVD's from the first year (3 years ago) I started watching, since we've seen the first 3 seasons on DVD the last 2 offseasons.

Even though it took a downturn this year, still a great show and still the only thing I take time out to watch every week on TV....and so it always seems like a long time away after the season finale until the next new episode, middle of winter, after the Superbowl and 1/2 way into the '08 hockey season.
