Default who knows their way around Vancouver?

kind of short notice...but any response is appreciated.

...my buddy won a trip to Vancouver this weekend for the Virgin music festival; most of our time will be spent there, but we're also gonna' check out the memorial cup game on Saturday featuring the Tigers.

my question is about PT (public transit) in Vancouver:

we are staying at the Quality Inn (1335 Howe St.)...close to B.C. Place and GM Place. How accessible are the two following venues via PT from the hotel?

-Pacific Coliseum (~2901 East Hastings)

-Thunderbird Stadium (site of the concert)

and how late does the PT run?

Thanks guys for any help!

Thunderbird stadium is on ubc campus. Out of downtown there are several busses without transfer that will take you there (4, 17). The 17 is a night bus and I know during the school semester it goes until 3 am on weekends. I dont know about during the summer. Use the trip planner listed above to confirm that.

Pacific Coliseum is on the other end of Hastings so you need to go all the way through east hastings etc with the bus. I forgot what number it is but PC is right beside Playland as a better landmark.

Damn, when I read the headline, I thought it was gonna be a challenge, but tkflames had it right, there are many routes you can take. Just ask a bus driver. Justask the people at the hotel.

I dont ride PT, but I think the major routes run till 1am, or so, I could be way off.

Well, when I lived in Vancouver a couple of years ago, I found the translink website - the trip planner thing - extremely easy to use. It gets you to where you are going, and is quite good. So while asking bus drivers etc is a good idea, I would see what the trip planner spits back out at you and then go from there. At least you have an idea of where to go.

Sigh, I really miss Vancouver....

All major routes run out of the underground bus stop located at the corner of Main and Hastings. You'll see a crowd in front of the entrance. Don't worry, just go downstairs.

I agree with trip planner. I've been living here 3 weeks and use it to get everywhere. Hasn't failed me yet.
