If convicted, Chartrand could have been sentenced to a maximum of 15 years in prison.
Earlier this week, he rejected a plea offer that would have given him only probation.
Its pretty interesting that he rolled the dice on 15 years in prison or complete exoneration, particularly since he was taking a chance with a jury.
It probably indicates he was passionate about his innocence.
