Seems to me that they are just after money, especially when the lawsuit came up. Think of putting your arm around someones shoulder while wearing really really really thick gloves where there is no sensitivity and then think about what could happen. It also isn't like he got on top of the girl and started to grope her.

If convicted, Chartrand could have been sentenced to a maximum of 15 years in prison.

Earlier this week, he rejected a plea offer that would have given him only probation.

Its pretty interesting that he rolled the dice on 15 years in prison or complete exoneration, particularly since he was taking a chance with a jury.

It probably indicates he was passionate about his innocence.
