Much better episode.. 4 more left.. time for some sh*t to start happening!
If AJ actually grows a pair, he could be a fun character to watch to finish out the series. Something major is happening with Chris.. gets caught for that killing and has to flip on Tony? I also thought he was going to shoot Paulie right there and then.. was dissapointed he didn't. Being drunk after so long, already made at Paulie.. and making a joke about his child becoming a stripper.. thought Chris was going to pop him.
AJ.. geez.. what a baby. We've all been there before, but holy moly, that was pathetic. Like I said earlier though, he could be a fun character to watch down the stretch here. Anyone have a read on the face he made when they were hurting that kid? I watched it on PVR around 11 and was tired, was he smiling or grimicing?
I wonder what Meadow's secret is.. maybe it's nothing.. maybe it's something.

I guess AJ won't kill himself after all. I thought that was gonna happen after he broke up with Blanca. Massive episode last night, this season has been way better than the previous IMO. But if they are gonna give AJ a character turn as make him follow in his dads footsteps, I think that will be pretty damn weak. He has always been a snot nosed little puke, and doesn't have the stomach for any confrontation. Maybe they are just teasing us with this stuff with him and Patsy and Carlo's kids. Maybe it's for real, I dunno, but I just don't picture him as a knockaround guy.
I honestly don't think Chris is gonna do anything about Paulie or Tony, it's almost as if he took out all his frustrations on the writer and is ready to move on and continue his real life, not the life he thought he wanted, the life he thought he was made out for. I dunno, I'm just speculating here.

Great episode. Involved alot more characters instead of just Tony.
I think, and I know that Chase is trying to set up a number of scenarios so we can all be surprised at the end, that Tony giving the info to Agent Harris will come back to bite him. Just the way that Agent Harris's partner looked at him when Tony gave the name of the Arab guy. Makes me think that any info they get on the Arab guys can also lead to info from the Arab guys on Tony's crew to the FBI.

He was enjoying the power here, he hadn't really experienced this before. I would put a nice chunk of change on the fact that he enjoyed it and will try in the next couple episodes to increase his profile only to have tony find out.

Thats what I thought as well. Definitely a dark side of A.J. coming out. I still hate him, but, as a male, I think he is written that way, so we hate his weakness, when his father is a powerhouse.
I really really hope that the series doesn't end with Tony simply going to jail. For me, that'd be a big letdown.

AJ has always lived in the shadow of his father. I think his depression was set off because Blanca was one of the few things in his life that he didn't get because of who his father is. Look at him at the party and the guy telling the deadbeat, "This is Anthony Soprano Jr and you know what that means!". That's what it's always seemed to be like for AJ. When he was a kid it wasn't a big deal but know that's older he wants to have his own identity but he can't escape being Tony's son.
I think AJ getting involved with violence will just lead to a different outlet for his depression. AJ might have been a snot nosed puke in the past but that's when he life was carefree. Now he seems to be frustrated with his life and that might allow him to grow some balls.

This was an excellent episode... but after the log they laid last week (okay, some pun intended), that wasn't too hard.
AJ: I think they really wanted to set him up to look really weak... but in the end, I think they are really priming him to be a smaller, slighter version of his daddy... from the "putrid genes", to the enjoyment of beating on deadbeats... I doubt he'll end up on top or anything, but they are definitely showing his path is towards the other family.
Chris and Paulie: These two are definitely not the professional mafioso a la Silvio, Tony, Bacala... these guys are totally screwed up. Where Tony, Sil and Bacala are soldiers doing what has to be done and putting their morality aside (which they all have shown to possess), these two are definitely sociopathic and deeply damaged. They're gonna end up dead by their own hands, or by Tony or NY because they become liabilities.
Tipping the FBI: My guess is, this will be a moderate plot line, but not the major one. Tony is worried he'll end up getting pinched, so he's building an insurance policy over and above the slick Neil Mink. They spent too much time on the Arabs for something not to happen.
Meadow: Came in primarily to forewarn danger in the family, namely, AJ's potential suicidal depression. This proved to be a false spoiler... I bet something big happens with her. Caught in the NY/NJ crossfire? A new Mafioso boyfriend? Another scheme?
Silvio: Seemingly, him and Bacala are the only two Tony hasn't really burned a bridge with. Bacala seems to have a new respect for Tony and vice versa. Something tells me there's gonna be something with Silvio. Does he get clipped, or betray the family, or does he have to take someone big out?

Things will not end well for Christopher. I still think he gets clipped in the end, maybe on Phil's orders who is still bitter and wants retaliation for the death of his brother.
I thought character development was incredible before. These last few episodes have really focused on the key players surrounding Tony.

Good episode. I could see AJ getting into the mafia lifestyle by hanging out with those bookie guys (Jason, I think?). I think they'd probably send out AJ to rough someone up, being the son of Tony Soprano and all and he'd get the crap kicked out him. Then he'd get pissed off and come back with a gun to reclaim his honour, something along those lines.
I think Meadow's mystery date is likely a mafia guy or at least someone that Tony knows, which is why she didn't want to say who it was.

Maybe it's one of the Arab guys that Tony told the feds about.

I think he was enjoying it as well. You can tell it made him feel like a big man based on the way he came flying into the driveway in his car just afterwards (enough to scare Tony into thinking someone was after him) and his sarcasm with Meadow after that.

I wonder if the arab guys will end up being FBI agents under cover? They were working the Bing! for a while. Now they are working anti terrorism. Just a thought.
