My buddies and I have been bellyaching about a lack of decent and capable rental fishing boats on Vancouver Island for years. We've been wanting to rent something that can handle Bamfield, Ucluelet, Tofino, etc. and there was just nothing there.

We finally decided to do something about it. Starting August 1 we've got 2 boats based in Port Alberni which can be trailered virtually anywhere on the west side of the island (you tow or we tow). Our rates are about half of guided charters and the boats are sweet.

I welcome questions, comments, etc. and we can certainly come up with some sort of CP discount if you're interested! Contact me for details.

I have a question... Why Port Alberni? IIRC, it's halfway across the island. If they're sea boats, why not keep them in Uculet or Tofino? (serious question, love the business idea...)

edit** ps, love teh june 28th post that eliminates curiosity as to whether people will be renting a mobile advertisment. Smart. The best advertising comes by word of mouth. And craigslist.

Best of luck. That would be a hell of a lot of fun. Do you do tours as well?

I once had a co-worker that did a trip on the West coast that the company took them out to a floating cabin in a bay where they would stay during the night, and then would be taken to sea for the day to fish. What an awesome experience!

Man, could have used you two years ago when my girlfriend and I were out on the island, not a single place would rent boats to us, very dissapointing. We may be making another run this summer, we will look you up for sure.
