I want to, at least temporarily.

I'd prefer Hong Kong, but I don't meet their strict immigration requirements as of yet.

Any other countries people have had experience in? Singapore? Malaysia?

How about Austrailia or New Zealand?

Hong Kong may not be the BEST place to live... sure things might be cheap and there are some nice places and its a good Gate way to the rest of South Asia... but Pollution is becoming an increasing problem. With the establishing industry just north of HK in the mainland, whenver the wind goes south so does all that polluted air. BUT, going there every once in a while isn't bad.

What do you want to do there? (ie. work). That might have a lot of influence on where you want to go.

I lived in New Zealand, and I can say it's very nice and laid back...Almost too laid back....For my personal tastes, it's not somewhere I could live forever because there's just not enough going on...If you like the slow, countryside lifestyle go there, but otherwise you can find better urban centres than Auckland or Wellington.

Brisbane would be sweet to live in - an almost exact replica of Calgary, except nicer weather, a coastline, and a much healther women-to-man ratio =)

But if you want to do Asia, I suggest Tokyo. It's an insanely cool city, tons of things to do, English is prevalent in the appropriate places, and is actually cheaper to live in than Calgary. I'm moving there permanently as soon as I can find a means to get over there again.

Singapore is cool too, but you will get bored of it fast. Not alot for foreigners to do there, execept shop.
