QE2 Closed

For anyone heading North, there's only one lane open north of Airdrie, and for anyone heading South, it's completely shut down. Fire-y crash involving 3 semis. It's in the clean up stage now.

Man, if that is between Crossfield and Airdrie, there is no escape route either. You would be detoured through township and range roads to get around the crash.

I never understood why they never extended the 2A from Crossfield to Main Street in Airdrie, then possibly to Simmons Valley Road into Calgary and onto Beddington.

That's exctly where it was too. It was a fatal accident. Two of the semis caught fire. I started watching hockey though, so I haven't kept up to date since then...

Ok, this was between Crossfield and Carstairs, at least they have the 2A to get around.

And the police say the road will be closed southbound until at least midnight. yikes!

Oh man. Two brothers parked their semis by the side of the road, another semi clips the back of the first one, side swipes the second one, the gas tank falls out and catches on fire. The driver of the semi that was side swiped (one of the brothers) died on scene after being pinned and his semi catching fire. The semi that hit the other two exploded. It's a mess.

actually if it is between crossfield and airdrid you can take the dickson stevenson i think it is called it is right off the highway to the west side. you take the northernmost overpast in airdrie and go a little west and you should come accross the road im talking about.

although haven't used it in years.

Wow, I drove through there at about noon today. That's really unfortunate.
