Default Are People Really This Stupid?

I just saw on the news that a bunch of people are lined up to get Hepatitis vaccinations because of the Wildwood incident. Sorry to burst your panic bubble but if you've already contracted it or eaten at the restaurant, getting a vaccine right now will not do a damn thing. The medical staff must be laughing their asses off.

I think a lot of those people aren't past Wildwood patrons, but people who just realized they are probably not vaccinated against hepatitis. I could be wrong though.

They're reporting on the news that if vaccinated early, it still can prevent it because the Hep A virus can stay dormant for several weeks before it acts up. I mean, if the Health Region is the one urging people who ate at the restaurant to get the vaccine, then people tend to believe them. I know I would. I mean, I'm not a doctor, and I'm not gonna pretend like I am one.

I suppose...it just seems like another level of mass hysteria.

Well, the Calgary Health Region held a number hepatitis A vaccination clinics specifically aimed at people who ate at the Wildwood so perhaps you should contact them and mention how stupid they are.

For the record, I was one one of those people lined up and it has been mentioned numerous times that getting vaccinated now could still potentially prevent illness.

Yeah, my bad. Should've researched this a little more after my intital reaction. It just sort of struck me along the same lines as bird flu and SARS.

No worries. I was never worried about SARS or anything and I'm not really all that concerned that I'll actually end up with Hep A but it is definitely better safe than sorry in this case.

For sure. Did not know the virus can lay dormant.
