Frick. I hate all killers of course but I hate "copy-cat" ones the most if that's possible. This guy truly isn't smart if he told his pastor about his plans. I'm definately glad he did though. Noone should have to go through anything like what happened at VT again. I hope they catch this jackass very soon.

This is one of the worst byproducts of a school shooting it seems to fuel the fire for the others that have psychopathic thoughts perhaps they see how glorified this insanity becomes…

Exactly. its sad, but this type of report will not be uncommon over the next few weeks. its bad when you get to the point where it doesnt even shock you, but you just say, "where was it this time".

I'm still unsure as to why post-secondary institutions are being targeted for these kinds of situations. What is it about college campuses that has these maniacal kids in a tizzy? I'm sure these kinds of news stories are exactly what Cho hoped would happen.

Isnt this story about elementary and secondary schools though? I figured if it was the principals making the call to lock down the schools, and if they are all part of a district, none of these would be post-sec.

Yup, all my friends at UC Hastings in San francisco didn't have to go to class all because of an email message..STUPID COPYCATS cause drama for no reason because some of the times, they dont even intend to go through with anything, but better safe than sorry.

I wouldn't say it's drama for no reason. This guy is another nutjob and he threatened to do something. Carrying around weapons and poison isn't exactly normal.

Um..you forget we're talking about California. people carry around weapons all the time. It's NOT legal to just carry one around for the heck of it, but people do it all the time. The poison on the other hand, yeah not normal at all...

I attend the University of Saskatchewan and I received this email yesterday:
At approximately 5:00 pm today (April 20, 2007), Campus Safety received
a report of 6' tall, dark-haired male, dressed in a light shirt and
camouflage pants, walking through campus possibly armed with a gun.
Saskatoon Police are on the scene, sweeping the campus. Members of the
campus community are advised to leave immediately or remain behind
locked doors.
Further developments will be shared with the campus community as soon
as possible.
Campus Safety advises that everyone be alert of suspicious persons or
activities and report anything unusual to ***-**** immediately.
The cops came in and did an entire campus search and couldn't find the guy. This campus is huge, not sure how many have been here, very easy to hide. Always a lot of people walking around, so there was a genuine cause for concern. Its all third persion- who knows what the real story was, but still it was fairly alarming. Pretty close to home.
