It wouldn't be an "off-topic" board without an emo post..

Immediately stop what you are doing and go listen to some of The Get Up Kids.

I'll check them out if you promise to take a listen to the new Roots CD, or perhaps some Little Brother.

Deal?

I've never even heard of the Get Up Kids until I read about them on here. Are they really that good?

Kermit I think it's time you pulled your head out of a musical ass and listened to some Johnny Cash.

The San Quentin cover of "Folsom Prison Blues" should do it.

Deal Ro!

FlamesAddiction, it depends what album you listen to for The Get Up Kids. Anything earlier than On A Wire is pretty emo, On A Wire is more of a folky rock, and Guilt Show is just plain good rock. The Last two songs on that album are very classic trippy rock.

You get the impression he knew his time was almost over. Some of it just sends chills down the spine.

When he sings "We'll meet Again", that pretty much sums it up eh?
I personally like American III the best, but all of them are so so solid.

The best part about Kill Bill 2 is when Buck puts A Satisfied Mind on the old record player.. I could hear that scratchy recording all day.

The funniest bumper sticker I've seen said: "Cheer up emo kid"

Emo is as cool as ska. Emo wants to be an elitist music genre, but it sucks, so it can't be. All music should be emotional. Therefore emo is just plain music, with nothing separating it from the rest.

Okay.. I have some of that.. No black hair, but I've got the studded belt, the lame t-shirt, the vintage track jacket, no reeboks, Lakai's though, and the pins are on the jacket, not the pants. Dude's too built to be emo, you gotta be a skillet!
