Default Holyfield fight given city approval

Looks as if a June 30th bout at the Saddledome is going to happen. This will be his last fight before he goes for another shot at the title.

In a closed-door meeting today, the city’s combative sports commission agreed to sanction the 44-year-old fighter to box in Calgary, his last match before he goes for a title shot.

I wonder if he'll fight Calgary's Dale "the cowboy" Brown?

Although they might be in different weight classes...

I wasn't aware that they had a boxer's senior tour. What a joke boxing has become.

Dale Brown would not have a chance against Holyfield, even at this stage of his career. A Top 15 fighter is an interesting proposition. I think this will be where Holyfield's quest for a title shot comes to an abrupt end.
Hopefully there's some good young Canadian talent on the undercard.

My only hope is that ticket prices are affordable for the common boxing fan to attend. I can't see myself shelling out more than about $60 per ticket to see a bunch of unranked Canadian tallent on an undercard, and a 'legend' in the main event.

But that's just me. I'd have fun seeing people beat the snot out of eachother any day.

No doubt. Say Holyfield wins this fight and gets a title shot, as the article claims, which one of the four "heavyweight champions of the world" is he going to fight?
