help buying an external hard drive?

k so i'm relatively poor, thus, this is a big purchase for me. earlier today i had 2 mb left on my computer, so i need more. what should i be looking for in terms of brand? speed? and how do i know if i have a usb 2.0 or triple interface connection i haven't really got a clue... any recommendations? thanks

Most computers will have USB ports unless yours is from the last century. If you have anything that plugs into your computer (mouse/keyboard etc.) that looks like this plug pictured then you can buy a USB 2.0 Hard drive.



If your computer don't have enough USB ports you can buy a hub and connect everything to it then connect the hub to the computer:
