When I went looking for NHL 2K5 the Tuesday it was supposed to come out, stores like Future Shop and Wal-Mart didn't have it until the next day. I was told EB did have it on Tuesday, though.
Is it always like this? Is Future Shop always a day late?
Anyway, tomorrow I'll probably be trying one EB after another until I find it!

Yep, future shop is usually like that.
I can't wait for San Andreas, looks hella good. Too bad it's coming out in 2005 for PC... :crap:
Console makers have too much control over the industry, including the PC portion for some reason.

I preordered it from Future Shop online. Hopefully it comes in the mail tomorrow, although I probably won't be able to play it until thursday night due to a nasty batch of exams I have this week...

Just my luck that my PS2 finally kicked the bucket this weekend. I bought it like a week after ps2 first came out. I wish these new systems worked as well as my sega genesis, which still works like a charm to this day. I don't know what I am gonna do- if I don't play this game soon I will die.

Actually the reason why I think it has bit the dust is because cleaning the laser had no effect whatsoever this time. I might just have to suck it up and buy another one. But it will cut in to my booze and food fund for the month.

You may be lucky. If you can wait a month or two I think Sony is releasing the new thinner version of PS2 which i believe will be under $200 (or right around it). Hope you can get it fixed though.

Actually I saw the thin playstations on sale already. They are tiny as hell, but pretty cool looking. I hope I can get it fixed but a part of me wishes I had kept in touch with some shady acquaintances that I knew in high school (cheap merchandise).I guess my morals have matured along with the rest of me though. Those guys are probably sitting in a jail cell somewhere right now anyway.

I read that because of an agreement between the company that made the game and Sony, that it won't be released on the X-Box for a full year. I heard that they can't even start making it on the X-Box for 6 months.

Same goes towards the PC version. They want to get as many people to convert over to console before they release it, let alone tell us the release date.

Crooks!
Anyhow, they aren't conning me into buying a console (btw, if you haven't seen one in person the new PS2 is not much bigger than a DVD case).
Unfortunately though I went here: http://www.rockstargames.com/sanandreas/and it really looks like a cool game and now I want it.

There are just more console developers than PC developers. Ever since PS2 and xbox came out, console developers have been pumping out crap. It is easier to develop for consoles as well. ss you know the hardware. PC is different, as you have to make sure it will work with all hardware available at the time.
Unless you are id, valve or a handfull of developers where you can write the game as you see fit, then the masses will upgrade. There are a number of other reasons as well.

Well, I guess I was pretty naive about the whole thing, because I very rarely buy games. But it seems (with EB, anyway), that if you didn't preorder it, you probably can't get it yet (no kidding, I'm sure, but I didn't really know that)
Anyway, I called one place just now, and they haven't gotten it in yet today, but are still expecting it, so I'll try there later.

Man this game looks awesome. When I watch the trailers I swear it looks like the game is based on the movie Boys in the hood. Looks like Eazy E is there to.

It is exactly the same game as Vice City, and GTA3. They just put you in a new setting.

And that's fine with me. I've had Vice City for about a year and a half now, and I'm still only just a little over halfway through. I don't play it often, but I really like it every time I do. There's just so much to do.
I just started San Andreas, and already it's a blast.

Even if it was that it would be amazing... but how do you know that?
Here is a review from IGN.com
http://ps2.ign.com/articles/559/559560p1.html
I'm not going to beat around the bush. Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas is the single best PlayStation 2 title I have ever played. It's larger than the biggest RPG, has more story than the heftiest adventure game, and has almost as many mini-games as Nintendo's Mario Party. Additionally, it has a production value that's second to none, boasts a faithfulness to '90s source material with an eerie accuracy, and provides more hours of entertainment than all the previous Grand Theft Autos combined. In short, it's a terrific unending masterpiece of a game -- and one that will never fall victim to an over-exaggeration of its lofty status. It's the defining piece of software for Sony's successful sophomore system, and it's almost impossible to imagine a PlayStation 2 library without it.
. Even more importantly, though, no one has mentioned the number one reason that Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas is so amazing to begin with: it's the first game I can ever remember that asks its players to wonder "What can't you do" as opposed to "What can you?"
No longer restricted to just a single city, Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas is huge: almost six times the size of Vice City and even more so than GTA3.
