Boo to School!
School sucks! Anyone else having troubles staying motivated this close to the end of the semester? I have a paper due tomorrow that's killing me and I so just want to quit! Just looking for someone to share in my misery!

Do what I did before... Ask a mod to temporarily ban you from the board.

Essay due in 9 hours and I'm about half done so i can empathize with what you're going through. In fact, I havent been motivated for school for somewhere around 2 years now and am hanging on for dear life this semester haha...

Yeah, my paper's due Friday. 12 pages. I don't even have a thesis yet. Lord, shoot me now. But the banning idea is a good one...Although, it would cut me off from my hockey news. Dilemma.

Well, I've finished my paper, and I'm pretty sure it's the worst paper I've ever written! Here's hoping for a solid C+!

All I can get
|
In retrospect, having to write school papers is quite rewarding. You put your individual thought into the process and you get a result: i.e. a grade.
Theres a beginning, a middle and an end.
Beats what beckons in the real world. Down the road you may write reams of stuff NOBODY will even skim over, but you do it because it's your job.
I call it UNformation. As opposed to INformation or even DISinformation. A little bit of corporate-speak.
Hell, I'd find it rewarding to expend effort writing a college paper now. Something remotely intellectually stimulating.
But alas, I am old and jaded.

How true Reg, how true. At least you know someone is going to take the effort and understand what you wrote. Now I'm lucky if someone reads what I do, and if they do, they take credit.

What are they on? I am sure the Calgarypuck collective community could assemble an essay here in this thread.

I miss school.
University was some of the most fun I have ever had in my life.
There are great things now too (still with the girl I met in Univ!) but still, nothing beats school!

I always hated the end of school because I knew it was the start of working two jobs to pay for next year.
Ah well, hard work paid off. I think....

I burned out on school. Final semester was it was brutal to stay motivated.
I just got tired that there was always something that needed to be done; another paper, and essay, a mid-term coming up, always something else.
The thing I appreciated about the working world was when I go home the time is mine. Sure, there are times when I'm on call or work late. But when I get home more often than not the time is mine to do with what I will, instead of feeling like there is always something due.
University was probably the greatest time of my life, but that period is over and I was ready to move on.

Quoting myself to bring light to the fact I haven't slept since I wrote this and my essay is now due in an hour and I'm still not done . Oh well, always check the late penalty I say. In this case it's pretty weak so I figure handing the paper in late today will payoff cause the essay will be alot better. Then again I'm pretty sure I'm not thinking quite as clearly as I'd like to be right about now.
Ah school....

The year I got my schooling turned around, I vowed to get at least 6 hours sleep. I was able to do that. But the next year I had to shring that to 5 hours. And my final year some nights there was only 4 hours of sleep.
