Those "I can't believe I did this" moments invariably go the other way for me.

Hooray for the Simpsons! When you're on the air as long as that show has been eventually you're going to hit on every topic to some degree.

Last semester in my Calc class we where learning related rates which I thought was impossible anyways some friends and I where studying…none could get any of the questions without help from the teacher including me, when it came test time I thought I had bombed for sure…when we got our mark back I got 19/20 the second highest mark among my friends was 11
EDIT: Edit and the only reason I didn’t get 20/20 was because I didn’t write down the derivative of a constant as 0! Ahh I just remembered that frustration!

I remember going on a class trip to England years ago. On the flight over some of the guys and teachers where playing nickel poker. They asked me if I wanted in and I said I didn't know how to play. So they gave me the basics of game and I joined. lol By the time were arrived I had cleaned everyone out. Needless to say the wouldn't let me play on the way home

I scored 100% on my math 30 final somehow. I don't have a clue how because I would have failed the course otherwise. It was a muliple choice test, so in theory I could have gone an incredibly luck guessging streak, because I sure didn't know all of the anwsers.

I'm surprised I haven't already used the moderator functions to change "were" in this thread title to "where."

I think it's funny that he used were as where and jpold used where as were. It tickles my insides.
Moments of I can't believe it? The last one was in retrospect. I was playing some floor hockey and I tore my calf, got up lifted someone stick and then rifled the ball top-shelf. In retrospect both me and the doctor are shocked that I did that and now I can't really believe I did it.

Well done. So did I and I'm still suprised.
I remember agruing in the cafeteria afterwards with one guy about the solution to a particular problem. Finding out later I was correct sure felt good.

Grade 6... walking around Heritage Park with my Dad. Some kids were playing catch with a football, when one toss went off target. It was heading right for my Dad's stomach. A split second before it did, I reached over and snaged it with the tip tickling his bellybutton. I looked down and hadn't realized what I just did until I looked up at him...
I wish I had that feeling more often. My life is filled with so much mediocraty (sp?) that I don't experience that euphoria that often...

This is bad...
I was playing badminton and since the shuttle was high, I was going for a smash... I had no idea where my opponent was... did a small jump and smashed it right on his forehead...

I was playing first base in softball and a girl had a base hit to right field so I stopped paying attention to the play. The RF decided to gun the ball into first and try to get her out, and somehow out of the corner of my eye I spotted the throw and made the catch just as the ball was going straight for her head. The look on her face is something I will never forget

Throughout grade 12, I was scoring horribly on my English 30 essays. I was doing bad enough that getting into post secondary was in jeopardy. I worked my ass off trying to improve my writing, and I got 49/50 on the diploma exam, which pulled my mark up enough to get accepted when I finally went back to school. Still one of the proudest moments of my life for me.

I'm surprised how I can completely and utterly misread women beyond human comprehension.
Eg. Out of all the full and part time girls in this company (and there are only 2 guys on the entire floor, including me), guess who Table 5 goes and asks out yesterday?
That's right, the office lesbian.
Really sad thing? Not the first time this has happened...

I was good enough to go to my first Taekwondo tourney as a yellow belt (which you aren't suppose to be able to participate until you're green belt). That's not the surprising thing. Surprising thing is I came away 3rd place. Beating guys 4 belts higher than me. That was the most surprising moment for me.

Changed schools this year. I had always liked to think that I did fairly well in sports but before this year I was the kid who tried "too hard" as oppossed to being considered a good athlete. Playing floor hockey I managed to deke past two guys (both lightweights) before being confronted by someone who plays competitive hockey. (I dont) I changed to back-hand (I shoot left), moved a couple steps, then quickly moved my stick fore-hand and shot top right and scored. From then on it is something I feel I am respected for. Unfortunately I am a loser in other areas at life.
