Down cancelled, So megadeth played an extended set from something like 7 to 8:45, then black sabbath came on, but the fumes from the grass overcame and I left just before the last song. Didn't want to hang around and dodge all the people getting out of the dome especially on new fallen snow. Oh right, Line up was definitely the Hell part, as they had a brief patdown before they let you in.(Lined up 7~ pm ish and got in at about 8) Lots of stud belts in the bin.
Usual metal/hard rock/punk crowd, complete with F-Body Camaro, mullets, metal t-shirts and ripped jeans. Although there were some preppies there too, although they stuck out more than usual. Umm.. set lists you can ask someone else, I follow neither megadeth or Black Sabbath closely enough to know what songs they played. Although Megadeth is definitely better as a live band.

Did you come from the plus 15 side (west side)? It is always the worst. Just jump around to the other side of the Dome you'll wait maybe 5 minutes to get in during those pat downs.

I was there. A lot of disappointed people as Down did not perform. Phil Anselmo has a throat infection or some such thing. Megadeth kicked ass, a very good set. Dave is not hurting from his wrist injuries from years ago, excellent stuff from him. I heard Mechanix (Four Horsemen from Metallica) for the first time ever live, they also played some stuff from their new album (Sleepwalker, Washington is Next) as well as the old standbys like Peace Sells, Holy Wars and Hangar 18.
Sabbath was decent. I'm not as familiar with their Dio stuff unfortunately, but they played all the good ones from that era. Heaven and Hell, The Mob Rules, Neon Knights. You can see why Iommi's riffs are the most copied in metal, he is the originator, the master and still has it well into his 50s. Geezer Butler's bass was intense, I was in the lower bowl on the metal part of the stands and you could feel the seats moving. Dio will be social security age this year (65!!!!) and can still belt it out pretty well. Vinny Appice is still a good drummer after all these years, too. They played none of the older Sabbath tunes (I didn't think they would) and I was left wanting a little more. Heck , even something like Holy Diver would have been cool.

Couldn't care less to see Sabbath anymore, but I would like to see Megadeth. Not going when the tour comes here...it may have already.
Any specific reason for Down cancelling? Haven't heard much of theirs, but I would be interested. I don't like Phil Anselmo though.

I had a ticket to go, but because of this stupid cold I ended up not going.
Meh, I was more looking forward to seeing Megadeth anyways, who I've seen once before, and I'm sure will come back on their own headlining tour. Though, it would have been cool to see Black Sabbath.

extremely dissapointed, as the only reason i bought tickets was to see Down live. Megadeth played awesome though so i got some value for my $60, and while Geezer and Iommi kicked ass it just isn't Sabbath without Ozzy (guess that's why they don't call themselves Sabbath, but whatever). Dio gets old really quick, can't stand his antics and dramatization
i did really enjoy seeing Holy Wars live, so that was the highlite of the night

I was there also, got there early and ate in Duttons, no line up at all. I did see that huge line up later to get in. Unlike the other posters I enjoyed Sabbath (The main reason I went). Sabbath is the best Sabbath with Ozzy, but the Dio years (Albums) also rock ,I listened to these growing up and really enjoyed them live. I would go again in a heartbeat. BTW the Club Seat tiks cost me around 65 bucks, good deal for a concert these days.

was on the floor for this one. was REALLY disapointed that down had to cancel but they'll be back headlining their own tour when down III is released.
megadeth was meh. the sound quality was poor for the first couple songs but improved (somewhat) through the latter parts of the set. same old same old. a couple decent older tunes but for the most part it was dave wanking and thinking of how awesome he was. completely underwelmed by these guys.
heaven & hell (sorry kiddies - it ain't sabbath) did well. MUCH better than i expected. geezer completely carried the band imo - it was amazing to see him live. the rest of the band was good but geezer put em over the top. fantastic set overall. excellent work by the sound guys on this one (A++++ would listen again LOL). great lighting. it was weird seeing people try to mosh to heaven and hell... that definately was not a mosh type of concert and because of it my buddy started laying out some of the kiddies that tried to start a pit.
