The Minnesota Wild are pleased to announce the acquisition of Dave Scatchard.

Scatchad joins the Wild via a deal with CBJ that sees prospect Cody Burki and utility forward Andreas Karlsson leave the organization.

GM Farhall commented.

"This is a good depth move for us. Dave can play all 3 forward positions which is excellent insurance against injury. He can play effectively on any of the bottom 3 lines and can even give us some special team time. This type of flexibility is going to be valuable come the post-season. And of course we know him well from his previous time with us.".

No doubt people will look on the history tab and scratch their heads as to how that team ever collected 80 points when they look at the Jackets roster.

Scatchard was a tough one as he's had an absolutely brutal NHL year and still carries an above average salary there. But in the CPHL he was still a very productive player for us. But with him being a pending UFA we decided to move him out. Burki has had a good year in the WHL this year and has shown progression every year he's been in the league. We anticipate that the NHL Avlanche will have him with their AHL affiliate next year and we'll see where he goes from there. We wish the Scatchman the best.
