What else is new? Thrashers trade again, that's what!
For the 5th time in 6 days, Atlanta made another trade. For the second time in 2 days, it was with the St. Louis Blues.
Going to St. Louis:
F - Mike York 74 ov (CPHL)
D - Ty Wishart (ECHL)
F - Adam Cracknell (AHL)
Going to Atlanta:
C - Robert Lang 80 ov
Cash (as per club policy it is not confirmed as to the amount), however the Associated Press is reporting it is 3.7 M for 2006-2007 and 0.5 M for 2007-2008.
GM Sutaria had this to say following the trade.
"We know we gave up a good prospect in Ty Wishart. He is a good young defenseman who will have future sucess in St. Louis. York never got in a game with us but we wish him the best in St.Louis. We hope Adam also plays well for the Blues on the farm. That being said it wasn't hard to make this deal as we got Robert Lang who will instantly provide leadership and offense on our team for the playoffs. Fans in Atlanta are getting excited right now about this team and I am too. Robert will be making his debut vs the Devils in 2 nights. Thanks to GM Jarvis on the talks. We seem to be good trading partners eh?" - GM Sutaria
