The new goggles also do nothing.

Default HVAC Costs, is this reasonable?

We're going to do some work in our basement, and I want to bring all the runs down to the floor (instead of having them in the ceiling). I've been told that this makes a difference in the basement (it's a walkout).

Anyway, he's charging $150 per run, and there's 6 or 7 runs. Is that a reasonable cost?

TIA

We're keeping it pretty much open, so all the runs will be in exterior walls or existing walls from the stairs and stuff, the only one that would have been done is the bathroom but we thought we'll do the infloor heat in there so we don't really need a run there then.

When I did my basement the tin for the run that goes into the new bathroom cost me $50 for the parts, and that was only a 10 foot run, andd then down to the floor.

Not sure if that helps you figure it out or not.

Hm, yeah if it's that much for the materials, then that's probably a decent price, given he's also going to balance everything so all the rooms stay warm.

The one thing that my cheap builder didn't do..... put shut off dampers in each line. That way down the road if you want you have more control over how much air goes into a given area, you can just partially close a line. I think they are about $2 each.

As long as you can access them.

The butt plug that developed my basement (before I bought) closed off the lines to where I keep my TV, Stereo, PS2 etc...(Man Room ??)

I only discovered this after freezing my a$$ off for two winters and finally shoving my webcam into the ducting and have a look around.

Now I have to cut holes in my ceiling to open them up.

Not a big deal just more work for me.......
