* In 2001, Smith was scheduled to do a Degrassi cameo, playing a love interest for Caitlin, but it was cancelled due to conflicting commitments.
He he could have been Claude and a half.

Chasing Amy
Holden : So, uh, what do you wanna do tonight?
Banky Edwards : Mmm, get a pizza, watch "Degrassi Jr. High."
Holden : You got a weird thing for Canadian melodrama.
Banky Edwards : I got a weird thing for girls who say "aboot."

I don't watch the show, but if jay and silent bob make an appearance for sure I'd see it.

We don't say it, but some Americans hear it that way. We have something called Canadian Raising, that makes our "about" sound different than theirs. It also happens in many other words, like "write" or "house." for example.

Some Americans also have Canadian Raising, most notably in Michigan.
