Holy crap! thats horrible news. He could beat up any roid freak in the WWF now.

I still remember he was the reason why Ed Whalen quit Stampede Wrestling. After using a fork on Archie the Stomper Goldie. Ed was so disgusted after the match he threw the mic onto the ring and walked out.

Damn, I remember him when he came here with a promotion from Winnipeg I believe and fought ex-CFLer turned wrestler Glen Kulka.

He wasn't. He won a bronze in judo at the olympics though. His best matches were against Bret Hart and the Dynamite Kid. I wish they would release those onto dvd.

I don't think he wrestled the toilet bowl did he? Weren't they both bad guys? Owen Hart vs the toilet bowl were classic. Their matches were routinely over 1 hour long each nite.

Nope..he was a babyface when I started watching Stampede in early 86..he did eventually turn in late 87 I believe.

63 is pretty old when it comes to pro wrestlers. This guy was bad ass before bad ass became popular a decade later.

WOW! That is really sad. I still think that 63 is young. I watched him a lot when I was growing up. I thought it was hilarious when he called all the fans "beer-bellied share croppers" and I didn't even know what it meant!

I'm actually quite sad to hear he's gone. I loved Stampede wrestling when I was a little guy. RIP.

Loved to watch this guy.

I actually met him when I was a kid. He was very nice to me and my friends.

I met him and his son a couple of times, he was actually a really nice man, and his son seemed to really adore him. He had huge hands that made mine disapear when I shook with him.

I remember he had such a realistic character, and was actually suppossed to be really stiff in the ring, which ment that fake fighting or not when he hit you, he hit you.

In Dynamite Kid's book pure dynamite it was apparent that Allen was really respected in the back, but apparently Bret Hart was afraid of him in the ring in the early days because Bad News took liberties in the ring.

But again, he was a really nice guy.

This might seem absolutly ridiculous - and I can't beleive the coincedence - BUT.

I just saw the man that was Bad New Allen not fifteen minutes ago.

I have lived in Ranchlands since 1992 and Bad News has been living here down my street since we moved here.

Just out for a walk with the wife and saw him walking his rottweileer. He was steadying himself with a very tall cane and wearing his usual black African style cap.

I said, "Hey Bad News" and he gave me the "Hey" back.

Dead?

How can that be? Could this be wrong?

What the f***???

Hopefully it is wrong. If you really saw the guy then it must be. There is no link at the start of this thread.

I hated Bad News Allen when he was a bad guy on Stampede Wrestling. Hated him. He was good at his job, because he was probably out having beers with the Hart Brothers while I was dreaming up ways in which the Hart Brothers could clobber him the following Saturday afternoon.
