Default Down with GAY PORNOGRAPHY at the Super Bowl

As one viewer noted in an e-mail, the "pro-homosexual theme" of this year's event, telecast on CBS, was "disgraceful." The writer added that "just because 6% of the population is gay," porn did not need to be included in the broadcast. Another purportedly offended viewer was concerned that the halftime show would have an unfortunate lasting effect on his son, who "hoped to be a quarterback and now he will turn out gay...Thanks CBS for turning my son GAY."

This is ridiculous. How can someone think that watching Prince will turn your son gay and that you should now test him for the HIV? Nuke the South..

Jesus....what is wrong with people?

I don't understand how there are still people out there who are "afraid" of anything gay or think that seeing something gay will turn someone they know gay....ughghg. People are so dumb.

It's always been my opinion that those who are afraid of "gay" are truly curious behind closed doors...

I don't want to offend anyone here, but I would put a lot of money that these people are religious. Didn't read the article.

EDIT: Yup, I was right.
"My husband rushed in to see the men kissing. This violates our religious beliefs and exposes our children to obscene and disgusting material they are taught are wrong. I want something done about this!!"

Now, I'm the last guy that wants to actually see gay porn, but you're kidding me if you think that the halftime show was offensive. I didn't see teh snickers commercial, so I can't comment there.

The halftime show was just a show. Kinda cheesy with the silouette, but certainly not gay. Prince is just... Prince. Welcome to the world, everyone. People are different. That's what keeps it interesting.

Long live Britney.

I'd be willing to bet that Prince has laid more chicks than Mother Goose and all the people that wrote those letters combined. It is kind of funny that all those people tuned in to watch a bunch of muscular men in tight pants wrestle around and hurt each other (and then have a communal shower, which is untelevised, but implied) then say "the little guy with the guitar is a homo".

I agree. Maybe not all of them, but the truly strident homophobes for sure. You can only get that crazy about an issue if you've got a personal stake in the matter.

Its so disgusting that some people can point the finger so easily but never are willing to look in the mirror, I am sure that a parents influence on there child has much more of an impact towards a child’s sexual orientation than a 30 second commercial

It’s the same thing over and over people are afraid of what they don’t know off, they need a scapegoat to blame there problems on

People are funny.

Anyway, being turned gay by seeing a silhouette of Prince playing guitar is not as bad as it used to be.

I mean, don't these people know, they can cure their young kids who recently had dreams of being a QB in the NFL, but are now treading down that immoral path to homosexuality.

Ask Ted Haggard, the recently disgraced minister who denounced homosexuality, only to be outed as a crack crazed frequent flyer of a gay escort. After 3 weeks of intensive therapy, he is now back to being a 100% heterosexual. Maybe soon they will have the hetero patch, where you can wear it in 6 week 3 step program, that will wean you off homoism.
So never fear parents, there is a cure.

Man some people are so freaking daft (wow I have not used that word in a while). I liked the half time show, I am not a big Prince fan but I thought that he did a hell of a job, I also saw the snickers commercial and I weirdly enough I did not want to run out and make out with men.
People need to grow up and realize that TV should not influence your children, parents should. Besides you can be gay and be a QB. Just ask Garcia (allegedly)

While the Snickers comercial did make me cringe; it was still entertaining.

In the same way that Jack Ass is entertaining; but doesn't make me want to get a buddy to shoot me while I'm wearing a bullet proof vest.

Are they referring to the chocolate bar ad that had the two mechanics kissing? That is not even in the ball park of being pornography. Over reaction much? I am surprised the mechanics of America didn't try to get the ads pulled like the police did with the Kia ad.

Also is Prince homosexual? I thought he was just over the top effeminate.

While I agree about the chocolate bar, the 9th complaint said
"...like two lovers might eat a banana together. Their lips meet, their tongues obviously entwine...at that point I turned it off, thoroughly disgusted and offended."
I think they could have added "and turned on", at least by how detailed the description semmed to be.

Prince has been with every woman from Kim Basinger to Carmen Electra (he gave her the Carmen Electra name!). He's been married twice, the last time to a Toronto girl. The guy is also very much a jehovah's witness and is religious to the point that most of his songs are now more religious than sexual in nature.

Middle American clueless ignorant people...sigh.

But if you read some of the letters, you'll clue in that the more outlandish ones are jokes.
