Wow, way to go Saskatchewan!
$5.6 million in 20 hours from a province of 1 million people.
This beat out the old record by $2.1 million, it was $3.5 million set in 2004.
Thanks to everyone who Rang those Phones!

Good stuff, I was amazed at the total as well. That one guy donating $500 Grand helped out a lot.

I'm assuming it was some sort of charity event. What was it?

It's a telethon put on by the Kinsmen club every year for the past 31 in Saskatchewan. What makes this really impressive is that there isn't a whole lot of corporate contributions, (like the MD telethon, where, for example, 7-11 will come on and announce a several million $ contribution) but it's a real community driven event.

The aim of the Kinsmen Foundation is to support, promote, and foster programs that will benefit people with special needs throughout Saskatchewan. The Foundation provides financial assistance to hundreds of Saskatchewan individuals every year to facilitate their improved quality of life and independence. Equipment provided includes communications aids, technical aids, specialized computers, ultra light wheelchairs, electric scooters, and wheelchair lifts for vans. The Foundation also assists with provincal and inter-provincial travel expenses for individuals receiving medical treatment, assessments, and organ transplants.
