Default Places that have lost your business

I'll start.

There is a convenient store called Sprague located on 7ave and 7st that have lost my business. I was there today thinking I'd pick up some soup for lunch. I see row of soup pots with a now serving sign under it. However, none of the soup pots have anything written on it to tell me what it is. Naturally, I looked into the soup pot to see what's available. Suddenly, this lady with a lot of attitude tells me to stop and to never do that again while giving me this look like I'm some sort of criminal. I couldn't believe it. I asked her why aren't there signs available to tell me what the soups are, and she tells me in a very rude manner that they aren't ready yet. Ok...so why is there a sign that says "Now serving" then?

I can understand that there are some places that would rather serve you the soup instead of having you do it yourself, and that may be for sanitary reasons. However, she didn't ask me politely. She was rather rude.

I've decided that this place has lost my business for good.

Haha! Thats a good story!

I have so many companies on this list its hard to keep track sometimes. Almost every insurance company in Canada can go on there. The three biggest are Wal Mart, Rogers and Futureshop. All stories are far too long to discuss here as my typing skills are seriously lacking.

As far as Wal Mart goes, all I can say for sure is that I may not have necessarily boycotted them as much as perhaps I was asked to never return. Its a little grey....

I will not go to Boston Pizza or Subway because of their stupid commercials! Never ate a Panago pizza before and probably never will.

I hate most Honda Dealerships(the service departments) but i despise Crowfoot Honda. hahaha. I destroyed them when they called for the followup survey.

and of course I don't buy the Calgary Sun or Herald cuz of Francis and Dohboy. and only listen to the FAN960 on the internet during the game.

I was at that Sprague today too. I kept out of trouble though. Sprague is owned by Rexall so the employees are probably bitter that Ryan Smyth was traded.

Superstore.
Having to buy bags and bag your own stuff is rediculous. I would much rather goto Sobe's, pay a little more, but not have to deal with that as well as the massive line ups and crowds.

Interesting. I should go back there and rub it in then.

I havent darkened the doors of a Canadian Tire in about 10 yrs. Also the subway on 16th ave near center st north.Never go there again.I ordered a sub there once, just starving by the way and in a hurry.I get to the til and haul out the ol bankcard. The guy at the counter says his debit isnt working. And he points out to me the directions to a few bank machines.I asked him where the sign was to indicate the debit isnt working.Well it only happened 20 mins ago he says.So rather than gimme the sub he'd rather throw it out and lose a customer forever.

I stopped eating at A&W (not that I ate there alot anyway) because of that stupid grandpa burger commercial. I haven't seen it in months and it irks me to this day. I will also never buy a phone from Rogers - terrible commercials!

There's a local restaurant here in dowtown Regina I will never go to again. Went there for a business lunch and they didn't bring my food. At the end of the lunch hour, they ask if they should box it up when it's ready. I ask them if it's free and the waitress tells me they'll only give me half off! I told them to forget it and I'll never go back.

I don't boycott based on commercials, but I will based on continously crummy service & bad attitude. There are currently a number of Tim Horton's on my 'active' list, as well as a couple of hamburger establishments.

Lets just say that it ended with me screaming a stream of obscenities that would make a seasoned trucker blush and me asking the manager "if her parents got divorced, would they still be brother and sister?"

Not one of my finer moments, but man, they pushed all the right buttons that day.

Air Canada.

HORRIBLE company. I fly with them when i must but i will pay a significant amount more not to. And it is not really how often things go wrong - it is how angry and unapologetic the staff is WHEN things go wrong.

Been there, done that myself. Good to see I'm not the only one.

I will rarely avoid a place based on advertising. But I will stay when somebody pushes those buttons that Frank talks about. Most times it happens because somebody is afraid to say "I don't know." Or a better phrase would be "I don't know, and I'd rather not make an un-educated guess rather than send you home with the wrong thing."

Dell... as per my thread on CalPuck a few months ago... *******s double-charged/double-shipped me a monitor that I pretty clearly only ordered one of... the hassle in sending it back and getting my money back was crazy. Love the monitor, hate Dell and won't shop there again... too bad.

The Futureshop story is pretty much a carbon copy of the Wal Mart story. Being told I was wrong or lying, me swearing and cursing while being asked to calm down.......aaaah memories. I really am a patient person, but like you said Ken, when those buttons get pushed......

Inglewood Drive Through. It's a little dive that sells decent food for cheap, but they got a new till, and they still charge 7% GST. Irritates the heck out of me. Yes, it's only a nickel, but that's my nickel, not yours, not the government's. And really, the glass on their front door has been broken forever and they're too cheap to fix it?

Sears is hopeless. They simply will not let you contact the parts department. "They don't have a phone".

Ticketmaster, of course.

First thing that ticks me off with Superstore, Safeway is no better, is to able to do business there and give them your money, you have to pay money to use their shopping cart!!! And then because the shopping carts are going in and out of the stores, the wheels are all ratched up and they dont steer worth a darn. And the Superstore shopping carts are the worst. They are sooooooooo long, then they doooooont steer.

So paying for the use of shopping carts roils me up before I even get into the store where I have to pack my own groceries and stand in long line ups.

But you do know you get your money back and therefore are not actually paying to use their carts, right?

Umm you know you get your money back when you return it. hehehehe Also even if you don't pay for your shopping cart they still go out of the store anyways, and they get taken even further.

I can't complain about the shopping cart deposit. I live a block from market mall and I get stupid shopping carts from zellers left on my drive way all the time. Never any safeway ones. The zellers one doesn't require any money. They need to make them all $2.
