Man, not a lot of the guys from my era of wrestling are left anymore..I didn't know he was 45..thought he was older than that. Anyways, I absolutely despise wrestling now, but it saddens me to see some of the guys I grew up watching die fairly young. RIP.

Wow... it was just last year that the guy disappeared. I don't mean from the wrestling world. I mean his friends and family had no clue where he was. There was alot of concern from the Bigelow family. And then, all of a sudden he appeared and all was fine in the world again.
I true entertainer. A mobile big man, something we hardly see anymore in the world of wrestling.
Hopefully he's doing his classic cartwheels where he is now. God speed big man.

I got to agree with the poster who said wrestling is lame now. I haven't watched it for 7-8 years now but when I was like 7-12 or so this was one of the guys along with all the old school wrestlers that I liked. So many wrestlers are dying early from that era. Bigelow, Rick Rude, Mr. Perfect, Bulldog, Pillman, etc etc. Anyways, RIP.

Lack of competition will do that. When you have nobody to compete with you slack off. Even though I dont watch it I hope TNA gets more popular because it will start making the WWE try harder.

British Bulldog died? I didn't know that. I liked his lil bulldog Winston. Him and the Hart family were related right, didn't one of them pass away as well (in a freak accident during a PPV?).
I miss wrestling. I dont even know who half of the new wrestlers are.

Seems like it might be more appropriate to use this thread to remember the guy rather than rip on wrestling...
Bam Bam was one of the most feared guys in wrestling in the 90's... the Vader Bomb was a devestating maneuver. Best wishes to his family.

I remember Bigelow had an absolutely classic match with the Hitman in the days before the Monday Night Wars. He could really move for a big guy until Vince destroyed his career by matching him up with Lawrence Taylor. I always imagined how much it would have hurt to get your head tattoo'd like he did.
Instead of the cartwheels, I'll always remember that he always had to haul his pants up because they didn't quite fit.
Some of his matches in Japan were just insane as well.

Man, it seems like every month there is a wrestler passing away. I grew up with a guy who got into wrestling and he passed away in his mid-30s. Sad new, Bam Bam was one of the last athletic big men in wrestling.

There's a bit of a Hart family curse in wrestling. Bulldog died due to his massive steroid and drug abuse, Owen Hart fell during a stunt and died in Kansas in front of a live audience. One of the other Hart Boys died of kidney failure, Brian Pillman died of an enlarged heart.
They're almost like the Von Erich family from Texas where all the sons got into wrestling and they all died tragically.

Yeah, Owen Hart. The British Bulldog died back in 02 of a heart attack which was determined that it was probably caused by past steriod use.

Bam Bam had the best build up entering the WWF of anyone I can remember.
It was weeks and weeks of build up about a 300 pounder who could do a standing drop kick, and it was all about which manager was going to be the one to bring him in.
Each week it was another manager getting disappointed. Freddy Blassie, Slick, Heenan, Jimmy Hart, Mr. Fuji, and finally it was some guy who looks like a troll who was the one who brought him in.
Too bad he died. He really was entertaining.

I wish the US gov't would lay off baseball for awhile and investigate Professional Wrestling and the McMahons. Nobody is dying in baseball, wrestling has seen way too many men die at an early age.

True, yet I'd be reluctant to see this happen.
Steroids are used in pro wrestling, but it isn't as big of a problem as many people like to think. The biggest problem is pain killers. In pro wrestling the live by the phrase, "The show must go on". They do whatever it takes to get read for their next match, and using and becoming dependant on pain killers is a very regular occurance.
Like all the rest, it is sad to see Bam Bam pass away. As of right now the cause of his death is unclear. I suppose it doesn't really matter what the cause was because at his age I can't imagine any scenario making things easier for his family and close friends.

I was listening to the radio the day the Britsh Bulldog died, they found him in a hotel in Windermere, BC.
Used to be a huge wrestling fan when I was a kid, haven't watched the WWF since 1991.
I worked a job for a few years with the Cuban Assassin, nice guy who told a lot of jokes. Hard to understand the guy though.
