I've heard stories about these ultra marathoners. Apparently they order a pizza 3 hours before they pass the pizza joint, and as they run by they grab the za and jog while downing it.

Friggin looney tunes if you ask me.

That is nuts.

The 100 miles in 24 hours thing is pretty crazy, too. Here is one, Vermont 100.

I ran a marathon a couple years ago, and my body felt completely broken when I crossed the finish line. It took a few days to be able to walk without feeling pain. Now granted these guys have to be a different level of athlete than I would ever dream to be, but this is an absolutely stunning accomplishment to me.

Almost makes me want to try.

Try it in the arctic across the North Pole, with the surface under you acting like a treadmill and taking you further from you destination at times.
