Hurricanes Roll Out Welcome Wagon
The Carolina Hurricanes will be beefing up security at RBC Center for Friday’s home game against the Minnesota Wild. “it only a precautionary measure” said GM Hanna “as we have a feeling that the game might get out of hand before the 3rd period, and we owe it to our fans to provide a safe environment”. This has come about with the recent acquisition by the Wild of goaltender José Théodore on Tuesday.

With José Théodore’s ties to biker gang Hells Angels and a recent block of tickets purchased over the Hurricanes web site from a Montréal area raised a few eyebrows within the Hurricanes organization. “Nominally when something like this comes up, or Théodore is playing in town, we are able to keep it low key” responded Hanna “but, we have a feeling that by the second period and when Théodore has been chased from the net, we didn’t want any incidents happening from a remote rouge gang”.

Wild Quick to Defend Theodore

General Manager Grant Farhall was quick to defend his new #1 goalietender on the heels of critical comments from Hurricanes GM Hanna Storm. Farhall met with the media after a brisk Wednesday practice and came to Theodore's defence.

"I'm not even sure what my collegaue is implying with his comments. Let's just say that Jose has a very loyal and passionate fan base that follow his exploits in the CPHL with the same passion they bring to their daily "business dealings". I'm sure they will find Mr. Storm's comments interesting so I've taken the liberty of forwarding them to the parties he is commenting on, along with his home address, in case they have a desire to chat in person with him about the comments."

Farhall went on to say that he was surprised that Theodore's fans wouldn't be receiving a warmer welcome.

"Frankly I would have thought that they would have welcomed any fans with open arms. Maybe between Jose's fans and the loyal fan base the Wild already has, we could have actually had a good crowd in Carolina.".

The war of words looks to continue...

Is it me or sim pulls goalie after FIVE goals? I know it better, coz Raycroft reaches this mark quite often

Yup. Always. Even if the goalie is still winning the game, he'll get the hook after giving up a 5-spot.
