Just a note from an Agent to all GM's..
If you see a UFA traded more then twice in less then a week, chances are he won't be resigning with anyone any time soon.

Trying to stop trading is a little out of your league IMO.
Nice try though.

I don't understand why the number of times a guy is traded affects resigning him. Wouldn't the GM that tries to resign him do so because he wants to keep him?

To be honest the Rangers are confused with that message but heck thats not the first time..............
Its normal for a UFA to be traded....its that time of the year the CPHL deadline is getting closer and I bet there are teams that could use one more player to win the CUP.... usually those guys are UFAs.

But he could also be doing so to make the player more attractive in trade discussions, couldn't he? I don't know ... I'm so confused!

I don't think Dave can be punished if he wants to trade UFA's. He is trying to win the cup. If he can sign a UFA and then deal them for something better that will help him win, I think that's smart management on his part. There's a reason the Panthers are near the top of the league, I don't think it's a coincidence. Dave trades alot but he always looks to make his team better.

I do not care if you trade them...Just remember that I am not signing any contracts until July 1st unless they are already UFA's

It would seem to me, that each case should be taken on a individual basis, as opposed to making blanket statements.
If an average ranked, potential UFA was traded 3 times in a week but the new GM offered insane cash - I'm positive you'd both jump at the opportunity.
As a GM with many potential UFAs, I'd like to think that I would have first opportunity to sign some or all of them prior to July 1st. In some cases, I fully expect to pay dearly for their services.

Way to read into things Dave...want a spoon to help stir the pot?
My point was simple...I've talked to several GM's about resigning the same player, I've told them he's going to be a UFA, then they trade him and I recive the same talks from the next Gm...and so on. I have several players that unless I get huge, huge money for, they're pretty much going to be free agents. Trade for them if you wish, I have no issue with that, I'm just saying don't waste the assets thinking that you'll be the one.
