Thrashers sign 2 key players

The Atlanta Thrashers signed 2 players this week. UFA forwards to be Martin St. Louis and Shane Doan were both signed to 3 year deals this week by GM Sutaria and Agent Eddie Bronze(C.R.E.A.M Inc. Agencies).

St.Louis was acquired from Montreal for Peter Forsberg while Doan was acquired from Edmonton for Patrik Elias earlier this month.

Financial terms have not been announced but it is rumored that the Thrashers signed St.Louis to a 3 year deal in which he will recieve 6.75 M a season, while Doan was also rumored to sign a 3 year deal in which he will recieve 5.85 M a season.

"We needed to get these two guys signed. We wanted these two in Thrashers uniforms long term and we are happy to have that done. We thank C.R.E.A.M Inc. Agency for the smooth talks. The UFA market this summer is dwindling down to less players with star talent so we thought it was imperative to sign St. Louis and Doan. We don't have too many players left to sign now. Horcoff is a RFA and we will begin talks with him later this year. Jay is the only UFA remaining that we still have to talk with so we are in a good spot." - Thrashers GM Sutaria

cool...... the Oil offered Doan 6+ and were told that was too low and he would be seeking the July 1 fun.

I guess things change with new a new city..... or did you give him the bottle?

I guess once you have players and then don't you can say what you want....

And for the record I don't make contract offers based on what Team X offered previously, I make them based on what fits my budget so don't cut me down because I got a good deal. (If infact you are. If you are not, then move along and nothing to see here).
