Default Could you become a Canadian

I have a person at my work that is about to go for his citizenship test and he gave me this link to some practise tests. Now I consider myself to fairly good when it comes to Canada history and how it runs but there are a few that stumped me. He told me that they need 100% to pass.

See if you could become a Canadian.

I got 19/20...Who the hell calls Ontario 'central Canada'...

I obviously don't belong in Canada. How do you define "Canadian" anyways?
..That said, I'm all for having people learn about a country they want to belong to.

I tried 10 questions and I got a perfect score. I'll try some more and see if I get any wrong.

I tried 20 more and got them all right too. Yay, I could become a Canadian! What's with all the BC questions? Oh well, they are easy.

Okay I went for 40 questions now and I finally got one wrong. SPOILER WARNING. I said Central Canada covered 1/3 of the country, when the right answer was Northern Canada. I didn't read all of the choices before I responded.

Hmm... Maritimers do. I know they get mad when we refer to Ontario as 'the East'.

17/20
Are you sure they need 100%?
That seems way too hard for a newcomer

What people need to get to pass? Just 50%?
Yeah I got 18/20...stupid a** central Canada one got me as well....and as a result I also got wrong the industrial heartland question as I thought central was refering to Manitoba/Sask.

I got 89%. I did the whole test and there was a bunch of questions about BC's government that I got wrong. Must be localized to BC.

I moved here from Quebec an I had no idea I lived in the "east". Lower Canada, yeah but east? Sheesh... buy a feaking map.

19/20. The bilingual question stumped me, but I suppose it's likely total population, not % of population. Duh.

As a person who has taken that test years ago, I was allowed to have 2 mistakes. I passed with a 19/20. Unless they've changed things, I don't remember it being 100%

The site is out of Richmond, the provincial government probably comes up with a portion of the questions to localize it.

Alright, I was bored at work so I did all 100 questions. I got 94/100.
Two I got wrong because I didn't read carefully (north being greater than 1/3 of Canada; Queen's rep in territories).
Two I got wrong although it is arguable the answers I chose aren't wrong (what the government did to make immigration to the West easier, four rights Canadian citizens have--I think this answer is quite debatable)
Two I got wrong because I am not from BC (leader of the Opposition, Lieutenant-Gov. of BC).

The citizenship test is usually a written test, but it could be an interview. The test helps government officials decide if you can speak English or French well enough to become a Canadian citizen. It is also used to test your knowledge of Canada and the responsibilities and privileges of citizenship. To pass the test, you must correctly answer all questions about the following topics
  • the right to vote in elections in Canada;
  • the right to run for elected office in Canada; and
  • voting procedures and how to register yourself as a voter.
You must also correctly answer questions chosen from the following topics
  • Canada’s history;
  • Canada’s geography; and
  • the rights and responsibilities of a citizen.

1) Do you like poutine?
2) Do you say "eh" after everything?
3) Do you know who Red Green is?
4) Do you say Zed instead of Zee?
5) Does u go after o?
6) Do you know what the hell a "cul-de-sac" is?

If you said "Yes" to all the above, you're a Canadian.
