Default Student Painters

So I've come to the realization that I'm a horrible wall painter. What could make putting paint on a wall turn into a blotchy cammo piece of crap. If painting walls was being a GM of a NHL franchise, I'd be Kevin Lowe.

Anywho...

Has anyone had any experience with student painters? Is anyone a student painter? Any reviews? What was the cost? What do they need? Do you need to be there?

The more info the better... Thinking about hiring someone to paint my walls. Any help would be appreciated.

K, so I did some searching on the site, and noticed that there was a thread about this... so I'll fata myself.

But if me painting isn't an option... what is? Does anyone have any recomindations. I'd like to keep costs down, but I'd also like my walls painted right.

I used student painters once, because I didn't have time to do it and my oh-so-patient wife wanted it done yesterday. One year later, I stripped it all down and re-did it myself, the right way.

I'd try like a retired handyman type of organization. I know there is one here, but that doesn't help you much in Calgary.

PM Firefly, and ask her to get in touch wth her painter buddy. He did my house, and did an outstanding job for a very reasonable price. He mentioned that he's open to new side projects, so he should be able to help you out.

I got a quote to paint from a painter, said I'd have to paint my entire downstairs ceiling of about 500 square feet to cover up a water stain. His price $1200. I bought $50 worth of paint, rollers, tape and poly and painted half the ceiling and it covered the stain and didn't looke like I'd done anything else to the ceiling. I let it dry for a day, and I can't see where I stopped painting. My wife who has OCD and would notice this and she can't see it.

Just buy good paint, and go to a proper paint store and ask for advice how to paint.

If I do it myself... I'll probably take all week, and use more paint than I need to use... and still do a shotty job.
