I heard something about Mike Richards had a fight with Chorus Network director. Apparently, Mike Richards talked about it on his show this morning. I missed it and I was wondering what happened? Anyone hear it this morning?

Yeah I just caught small portions of it too. Some chance mtg at Moose Macguire's over the weekend. Laced with F bombs and other profanity.
I didnt hear what it was all about though, kind of got the impression it may have been a drunken rant.

I think you will hear more about this. Richards mentioned it a number of times this morning, but I missed the details. He hosts Monday Night Football at the new pub at West Hills (don't ask me how to spell Shonakeys?). Maybe someone there can ask him what happened. Or, he will probably make further light of it tomorrow.

Mike Richards is apparently the most overrated prospect.

I heard it this morning, A Director of progamming from QR 770. Confronted Mike Richards and started to drop "F" bombs. Mike mentioned it a few times this morning.

Yeah, it had something to do with one of the impersonations he does, that the director of QR (can't remember his name) didn't like. Apparently, the guy was wasted, and he cornered Mike Richards and told him he had no class, cursed him out, etc etc. Richards thought it was a pretty unprofessional thing to do, so he went on the radio to let everyone know how much of a dink this guy was.

A drunken rant by someone from QR77? Maybe it was the "know-it-all-windbag" lampooned in the Fan 960's "Real Football Show" ads.

The ad does not name the "windbag" so we can only speculate. I think we can all guess who they are referring to.

I heard the whole thing this morning. It was funny cause at first the guy came over and didnt tell him who he was but just started dropping the F-bombs. Then at the end of his rant Mike asked him his name and he ended up being one of the higher ups at QR77.
I am pretty sure Mike called him an ass and told him to screw of and mature a little.
Pretty funny.

I agree that based on Richards comments the QR guy comes off looking like a chump, but I was dissapointed to see Richards decide to take this little tiff to the airwaves. What's the purpose of that? In my opinion both parties end up looking poorly in this one. Take the high road and try to deal with it in a professional manner privately.

The guy who confronted Mike Richards was Jay Donald from QR77.
The guys HAS to know that Richards is a little off the wall and nothing on his show is to be taken too seriously. Nothing wrong with Richards bringing it up on his radio show in my mind.

In my opinion Richards comes off looking pety here. in all honesty this is what he does, he starts the situation by being very classless, to an extent I haven't heard on the radio (or at least AM radio). then he goes on the radio in an attempt to do what, ruin this other guys career, sure he shouldn't have acted like he did, but that doesn't give you the right to take a run at the guy on the airwaves.
Plus I have heard Richards a few times in the morning, and he brings nothing to the table in terms of intelligent conversation, something that I enjoy on the way into work or school and I know a lot of other people do to. Not suprisingly those "know-it-all-windbags" seem to constantly draw higher ratings that his crap

Richards has done this before. I remember it wasn't too long ago a caller got his gruff about his "bad-mouthed Bettman" spoof (which was not funny and I was surprised myself that they allowed it to go to air) and Richards went on one his tirades then too. I have no idea what he was like before he came to Calgary, but from what I've heard so far, he's definitely not scared to call-out guys on air.

Yeah. The Bettman broadcast shocked me as well. I think of myself as a pretty open minded guy but at that time of the day I was really surprised to hear some of the stuff in that bit. In fact, it was so bad I don't even feel like it would be appropriate to write the stuff here.
I like Richards but he goes over the line.

For the level of maturity he shows on air, I find it rather ironic that he, of all people, are taking time to call guys out. He's quite obviously the kind of guy who can dish it out, but cannot take it.

I enjoy Mike Richards. Sometimes he goes to far (ex. Rita McNeil jokes), but some of his impressions are hilarious (ex. Bob O'Billovich). Much smarter and funnier than Gerry Forbes, but that is not saying much.
