With Prince set to perform at halftime of Super Bowl XLI on Feb. 4, it's time to look at the most unforgettable performances (in no particular order) from various sporting events. These aren't necessarily the best performances, but a combination of the best, worst and most controversial.

Pretty recent, but for a Saints fan, U2 and Green Day reopening the superdome with the "Saints are coming" was way cool.

.....and in the awful category, Ashlee Simpson getting booed off the stage at the Orange Bowl always brings a smile to my face.

I do miss Old Chicago Stadium. There is/was no other stadium/arena where the atmosphere would come through on the TV like Chicago Stadium. I heard from a guy who watched a game there that when the Hawks scored and they blew the fog horn and played the organ at the same time, the seats shook in their foundation. Would've been awesome to experience that.

I really enjoyed the Superbowl half time performace by U2 in 2002. As a strange coincidence it was also at the Superdome in New Orleans... it was the one with the big screen and all the 9/11 names scrolling up it.

Also strange that Bono changed the lyrics in Where the Streets Have No Name from "I want to take shelter from the poison rain" to "I want to dance in the Louisiana Rain"... and then years later the Louisiana Rain did become the "poison rain" that helped cause the flooding and whatnot...
