Don't know how many of you know what Gov't Mule is, but those of you who do are probably fans.

But if you don't know....

Gov't Mule is basically Warren Haynes and a changing group of support musicians over the last several years. Haynes has been around for a long time, most notably as a guitarist with The Allmans Brothers Band.

If you like Blues Rock, even just a little, pick up Gov't Mule's latest release, Dejavoodoo. Peter12...there are some songs longer than 4 minutes, so you probably wouldn't like it. :P

Best CD I've purchased in a long time. Better than the oft mentioned Velvet Revolver, IMO....and that's saying something.

Anybody else a fan of Haynes, Gov't Mule, Allmans?

Actually I was listening to a rendition of "The Band played Waltzing Matilda" and it was over 8 minutes. I could possibly handle a regular 4 minute plus song.

only thing I'm aware of by them is a cover of John Prine "Angel from Montgomery" as I downloaded it looking for the Leslie Spit Treo cover (Cape Breton Oilers 1993 playoff song on their drive to the AHL Championship)

I'm not a huge jam band fan, however I'm told if you like Grand Theft Bus (I haven't seen them live yet desipte the fact they play all over the Maritimes on a semi-regular basis) then you'd probably like the Jimmy Swift Band as well.
