Good win at home (?) against a quality team. Hopefully the team can get better on home ice. Good night for both teams, Kings get the win and give the Oilers a whole new chance at starting another 10 game winning streak.

Hawks figured the jig was up, with half the blueline so tired they couldn't lace their skates. The 16 game unbeaten streak comes to an end in a brutal thumping from the Caps.

At least we didn't go down without a fight. Zach Parise took hooking to a new level as he caught Pavol Demitra by the neck and tried to go Barzan Hassan al-Tikriti on him. Demitra had a better outcome and will only be day to day. The good new is, he is now taller.

That whole event sent a new wave of energy through the Hawks! The blueline and Miller found that the excitement of Parise getting tough and ejected from the game, paired with not working very hard in this game gave them a new lease on life. Condition is back to normal. Amazing what not really putting in any effort can do for a man!

The last 8 games in 10 days had put some fatigue on the boys. But we finally have a day off, then meet the Thrashers in Chicago for what promises to be a spectacular game! Then immediately back to Washington for another meeting with the Caps.

De-mentor beaten by De-mented...

CAps GM Hesla having trained under the tutelage of GM Becky had his Capitals end the long unbeated streak of the Hawks.

The Win propelled the Caps within striking distance of first overall, putting them only 3 points back of the Panthers.
